Ford Bronco

About the Ford Bronco

The Bronco is an absolute icon of the offroading world, one that has evolved over the years into something its competitors simply can’t keep up with. Some of this comes from the huge range of customization options that let you outfit your Bronco for exactly what you need. So there are both two-door and four-door body styles, nine different trims levels, three engines, and the Bronco is one of the few vehicles still available with a manual transmission. The Bronco’s body-on-frame construction makes it tough, an absolute must for a serious offroader, as is the Bronco’s best-in-class available 11.6 inches of ground clearance. Add to that a highly advanced 4X4 system with features like Trail Control™ and six different offroad modes, and it’s clear that why the Bronco out-performs the competition on the trails. And the Bronco has plenty of creature comforts to go with all of this, like the available dual-zone automatic climate control, and the powerful SYNC® 4 infotainment system, complete with a standard 12-inch touchscreen.

What the Critics Say

"Nevertheless, I believe the Ford Bronco is well worth that wait if you're able. It's comfortable on the road, far more than its primary competitor, and it's loaded with solid technology and ample creature comforts. Whether it's headed for the dirt or not, the Bronco is the latest in a long line of home runs from the big Blue Oval." — Roadshow by CNET

""Otherwise the Bronco is a win in every metric. From its character and design to its thoughtful and helpful drive modes and wide availability of its off-road package, the Bronco is the best buy among its competition for most shoppers. Whether you stick with the turbo four-cylinder or opt for the turbo V6, the Bronco has sufficient and smooth power for daily driving with a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission." — Edmunds

What’s New For 2024

Ford only made a couple of small changes for 2024, upgrading the standard equipment in a few trims. For starters, the Heavy Duty Modular Front Bumper that was previously optional on the Badlands trim is now standard. The only other change is the 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, which used to only be standard on some trims, is now standard for the whole lineup.

Ford Bronco Features

Ford Bronco Offroad

Unmatched Performance

The Bronco was made to be an outstanding offroader above all else, and it’s clear that every aspect of the design was aimed at achieving this goal. The Bronco is offered with a choice of three different engines, all of them packing more than enough power for serious performance. The base 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine produces 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, and this is enough that Ford didn’t really need to offer more than that. But there is also the option of a 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 that turns of the power to 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, an excellent choice for those who expect to be carrying a lot of heavy equipment. For the performance-minded, nothing can outdo the Raptor, its 3.0-liter EcoBoost® V6, and the 418 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque it produces. All of these engines are available with an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission, and the 2.3-liter EcoBoost® is also available with the segment’s only 7-speed manual transmission.

The Bronco features a sophisticated suspension system, and a 4X4 system that uses a two-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case with an available auto mode. The Bronco also comes with the Terrain Management System™ with G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes™, a feature unique to the Bronco. This system blends advanced technology with the kind of toughness that has made Ford trucks and SUVs such a hit for decades, all to make an absolutely incredible offroad machine.

Ford Bronco

Style With Heritage

The Ford Bronco’s history stretches all the way back to 1966, and the current model blends the nameplate’s extensive heritage with its modern and advanced technology to create something wholly unique. This is something Ford has always done well, and the process of designing this latest generation of the Bronco started by making a full digital scan of the original model and incorporating as much as possible into the new vehicle. You can see a lot of this in the wide fender flares and the grille. The headlights, too, are made to resemble the original’s, even if they are much brighter LEDs. Another good example of how this design ethos is implemented is the doors. The Bronco is available with either two doors, like the original, or with four, an evolution of the design. And either way, the doors and roof are easily removed for an open-air driving experience, always appealing in an offroader. For those who want the full heritage experience, there are two different Heritage Editions of the Bronco, which further highlight the connection between the past and the present of the Bronco.

Ford Bronco Interior

Highly Functional Interior

You can’t have a really serious offroader if you have an interior that you’re afraid of getting dirty. That’s why the Bronco has an interior that’s as adventure-ready as it is comfortable. The seats are upholstered in marine-grade vinyl, making them easy to wipe down. In addition, there are available rubberized floors, and integrated drains, making it easy to simply hose down the whole interior when necessary. This is all great for weekend adventures, but what about the daily commute? The interior of the Bronco is incredibly versatile and easy to enjoy while on the road as well. It comes with a whole slew of 12-volt and USB-C ports for easy charging. It also has a SYNC® 4 infotainment system, complete with wireless Apple Carplay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility and a 12-inch touchscreen, the biggest in the segment.
